INSET Days
These dates are school specific, however, wherever possible we try to work together across the Partnership of Dronfield Schools (PODS) to ensure these days are the same across all schools. Sometimes, this isn't possible due to the training needs of each school and the availability of professional development resources.
An INSET day, originally standing for IN-Service Training Day, is also known as a Teacher Development Day or Baker Day. On these days, school sessions are not held, and pupils do not attend, but staff are required to attend for training and complete administrative tasks. It's also a chance for staff to learn about new technology and methods.
