Friends Of Our Lenthall School
Every parent or carer who has a child at Lenthall Nursery and Infant School is automatically a member of our 'Friends' charity, FOOLS. The FOOLS Committee organise and support a range of extra-curricular events throughout the year to raise money specifically to provide additional learning and play equipment and facilities for the children of Lenthall Nursery and Infant School. These events have the added benefit of enriching the school year for the children and wider school community.
Any parent or carer is extremely welcome to attend any of our meetings and/ or events at any time throughout the school year and we actively encourage participation. FOOLS are always in need of help before, during and after events and thoroughly appreciate all the time and help (no matter how big or small) offered by the many parents and carers who get involved. Without this help, the events would not be as successful as they are and some would not be possible at all.

Fundraising
The funds raised by FOOLS vary but are usually between £2,500 and £5,000 per annum. In recent years we have tried to focus our efforts on particular annual projects, aligned with the Key Priority Areas identified by the school staff, leaders and governors.
Other purchases made with FOOLS money over the years include:
- Focus Maths - Key stage 1
- Freezer (to support fundraising events)
- Playground equipment
- Defibrillator & staff training
- Extra crafts & resources
- Numicon sets
- Projectors
- New children’s laptops & computer equipment
- Scooter racks
- Fun & educational signage
- High-visibility jackets for the whole school to ensure the safety of children on trips outside of school
- Flipminos (these enable children to make recordings of themselves)
- MP3 players for the Y1 & Y2 reading areas (Nursery & Reception already have these)
- Headphones for the children to use in the ICT Suite

You are always welcome at any FOOLS meeting: join us for a coffee (possibly a biscuit too) and give it a go!
